A 12-storey hotel development with over 1400m2 of waterproofing requirements against hydrostatic pressure, close to the river Mersey.
To achieve a Grade 3 (BS8102:1990) totally dry environment, within a site close to the river Mersey, as part of Liverpool’s city centre regeneration.
The main contractor selected Xypex as a change to the original specification, due to its self-healing properties and proven track record in delivering effective waterproofing.
Xypex Admix was used to protect the power floated slabs in the plant room, car park and all insitu basement walls. Admix was also used to waterproof the sprayed concrete swimming pool shell of the hotels leisure facility. Xypex Concentrate was used in conjunction with Hydroswell Bentostrip to seal the construction joints between pours.
Xypex Admix C Series -Plant room and car park slabs and walls, swimming pool shell and associated water retaining structures
Xypex Concentrate – Joints between day pours
Hydroswell Bentostrip – Joints between day pours
Placement time was saved during construction due to the Xypex waterproofing system being integrated with the concrete, eliminating the need for additional processes and expertise. This reduced costs and ensured simplification in the QA and warranty procedure.
